Annual Backpack Giveaway
Preparations are currently underway for our fifth
annual giveaway of backpacks and school supplies to
the children from families in need on the Coast. Last
year we gave out about 645 backpacks. (Click here
for the story.)
We are in need of paper, notebooks, folders, pens,
pencils, rulers, crayons, markers, etc. ... and, of course,
backpacks. Start saving now. We will begin
collecting these items August 1st and will be stuffing
the backpacks at the Community United Methodist
Church on Saturday, August 13th beginning at 9 a.m. so
they can be given away the following two weeks before
school starts.
